Navigating your site

Your new website is built on Umbraco. It is a powerful content management system (CMS) which allows you to amend, edit and update your website to ensure that you are providing the right information to your patients on your site.

Our guides are here to support you and guide you in how to access the backend of your new website.

Types of content pages

Your site is made up of two different types of content pages:

  1. Flexible content pages
  2. Template pages

Flexible content pages allow you to build out the design of your page with the available flexible content blocks on the website. Whilst template pages are built in a fixed template and you are unable to add additional flexible content blocks to these pages.

Each page type has benefits to use in certain areas of your site. View our guides below to understand when to use each template on your new site.

Flex pages and templates

Flexible content pages allow you to add flexible content blocks. Flex pages are the most frequently used page type on your site and you will likely use these more than the template pages to create and upload new content to your site.

Template pages

There are several page types included in your GP Practice site. A number of these are template pages, meaning that they can not be supplemented with any additional flexible content blocks which are not already included within the template. The template pages on your site are:

  1. Home page
  2. Landing pages
  3. Teams page
  4. Vacancies page
  5. News page
  6. Contact page
  7. Search results page
  8. Sitemap page

Learn how to use and manage these pages in our training guides and videos.
