The structure of your new site
Your new site’s structure and design has been carefully curated following a research and data-led discovery process in the pilot project. This process spanned over a number of months and was driven by insights from patients, GPs and our expertise at Spindogs.
The site is made from a variety of different page types including landing pages, flexible content pages and template pages. These pages should be used in different areas of your site, which we will cover during this session.

Navigating your new site
Your new site has been based on the exemplar site design and sitemap which I previously mentioned. This design template features a Main navigation which includes:
- Your logo
- Translation services powered by Google
- Search functionality
- Access to the NHS App
- Key navigation pages via the menu
Unlike most sites, the exemplar design as opted for a single navigation menu, rather than multi-level menus to ensure the user journey is as simple as possible and to remove distraction.
The main navigation is present across all pages of your site to promote accessibility and ease of navigation for your users. We’ll run through each of the pages on your new site to ensure you are familiar with the contents, layout and properties of each of the pages.
Your key landing pages
There are a number of key landing pages on the NHS exemplar site. These are found in the main navigation of your header menu and direct patients to key information to support their journey on your website. These include:
